There are four of them – George, Harris, the writer, j, and his dog, Montmorency – all participants in an entertaining boating experience on the River Thames. After George suggests going on a river trip to remedy their low spirits and poor health, the men pack their bags and set off on the Thames. However, their adventure is anything but peaceful and relaxing.
The men encounter many difficulties and get themselves into several humorous situatons. And thanks to Montmorency’s ridiculous behaviour, their problem are made even worse. Since its first publication in 1889, Jerome’s masterpiece has always been regarded as a classic example of British humour.
